I guess a few people would deny that the technologies are important in our modern life. Today we even cannot imagine our subsistence without certain products of technological progress.
So, you have to write a technology coursework. Of course, you can write about those things that make our life easier and more comfortable. Yet, we have an interesting suggestion for you. There are four concepts concerning the technological progress that we want to tell you about. Your technology courseworks can be devoted to these concepts. Or, at least, a part of your technology coursework can introduce them.
Supportive concepts:
There are two concepts that you can write about in the technology courseworks, which advocate the technological advance.
- Techno-progressivism. This concept states that technological and social changes should be convergence. In your technology coursework you should think over another key point of the concept. Techno-progressivism supports the idea that the society can benefit from technological developments only under democratic and liable authorities.
- Transhumanism. This is another supportive concept that you can tell about in your technology coursework. Basically, this is the movement, which widely supports science and technology advances. While discussing this concept in your technology coursework, you can tell that these advances are seen by the transhumanists as those that will enhance various human physical and mental abilities.
Opposing concepts:
- Neo-Luddism. As you can guess, this is the movement against technological progress. In the technology coursework you can tell about the main arguments that Neo-Luddites have against this progress. They are: dehumanization, pollution, destruction of the traditional cultures and societies, consumerism and some others.
- Anarcho-primitivism. The main idea of the anarcho-primitivists that you can review in the technology coursework is return to non-civilized way of life.
In your technology coursework on this topic you will have to introduce your opinion on the concepts and tell about the standpoint that you share.
