What a Term Paper Title Should Be Like

Term paper title is the name of your topic formulated in several words, carrying the most essential idea of your research.

The most widely-spread mistake, nearly all students do, is a very long term paper title. Do not follow their tracks if you want to get a high grade on your term paper.

Now, let us consider what your term paper title should be like:

  • Term paper title should be briefly formulated. If you were a Professor, would you like to read a term paper where the term paper title occupies a quarter of the page? Hardly! Besides, why should you expend your energies on composing a literary composition, instead of your term paper title? Let your term paper title be simple but catching;
  • Term paper title should be attractive. Why have you decided to read this very article? Because it attracted your attention, didn’t it? Besides, you can guess what the point of this article might be by reading the title only. The same is with your term paper title. Your Professor should be able to catch the point of your project from your term paper title only. A good term paper title is a title arousing the reader’s interest from the first 30 seconds of looking at it. What are your main criteria of choosing a book to buy? No doubts, you will buy a book if you liked its title! So, mind it when giving a title to your term paper;

  • Term paper title should be informative. It should reveal the main idea of your project. On the other hand, it should NOT tell everything about your research. Your term paper title should present 30% of information, the other 60% your reader should discover by him/herself.

If you know exactly what your term paper should be like, you will be able to give a perfect title to your term paper.
